Lotus365 treats Buddhism as a family of living religious and philosophical traditions—not as interchangeable wellness advice.

Sources and claims

Instructional lessons are expected to identify relevant primary texts and independent scholarship. A translated text should name the translator or edition where practical. Primary texts support what a source says; scholarship supports historical dates, authorship, institutions, disputes, and broader context.

Tradition and interpretation

Claims specific to Theravāda, Mahāyāna, Vajrayāna, Zen and related East Asian traditions, Pure Land, Tibetan traditions, or modern movements should be labeled. Lotus365 avoids phrases such as “all Buddhists believe” when practice or interpretation differs. Disputed histories and modern reconstructions should be identified as such.

Language and translation

Pāli and Sanskrit forms are not treated as interchangeable spellings. Diacritics are preserved in scholarly display, while plain-language pronunciation aids are labeled as aids rather than authoritative linguistic transcriptions. Pronunciation material requires a competent language review before it is represented as authoritative.

Artwork and provenance

Historical objects should identify title or object type, culture or creator, date, region, institution, source, and rights status when known. Museum access does not itself establish permission for commercial image use. Interpretive or synthetic imagery must be described truthfully and must not be presented as an accessioned object or documentary photograph.

Review status

Lotus365 does not claim independent scholarly, practitioner, language, or artwork approval without a named reviewer, relevant qualification, review date, and recorded decision. The shipping featured-art files have documented public-domain or open-license source and modification records. The inaugural curriculum, translations, pronunciation aids, object framing, and lesson-to-art relationships remain in pre-launch external review; this page describes the standard they must meet, not an endorsement that has already been completed.

Corrections

Errors and material omissions are logged, assessed for impact, corrected with a revision record, and included in a subsequent release where appropriate. Submit a concern through the content-correction page.
